She was the daughter of Harry and Noreen Freyn.
She attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and was a Graduate of Indiana University class of 1943.
She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and also a member of Sunnyside Guild, Tri Kappa and was a silver Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League.
She worked as a Realtor for the F.C. Tucker Real Estate Company in Indianapolis for many years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ralph Lathem and her son Robert Scott Schaefer.
She is survived by Sally Etter in Bloomington, IN, Sue Young in Tucson, AZ, Bill Lathem, Tampa FL and Ginny Lathem, Spokane, WA 3 grandchildren and 8 great grand children.
Upon her husband's retirement they moved to Rancho Bernardo, CA. Then for the last 21 years lived at La Costa Glen in Carlsbad CA.
She was a member of The Lake Church San Marcos and will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, CA.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the North Coast and Glenbrook Skilled Nursing for the wonderful care that she received during the last weeks of her life. Also we would like to thank The Lake Church and Pastor Jim Brown for their spiritual guidance and prayers.
