

Caroline was born on January 9, 1960 at 12:05 pm in Boston Massachusetts to Joyce (Capel) Decker and Thomas Garland Decker. Caroline grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts and graduated from Wellesley High School in 1978.
She Attended McGill University where she was a McGill Scholar, Faculty Scholar and University Scholar. She received a BSc in Biochemistry, with a minor in Organic Chemistry. She then attended University of California at San Francisco, receiving a PhD in Pharmacology with a minor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. While there she was awarded; a regents Fellowship, Graduate Opportunity Fellowship, National Institutes of Health training Grant Award, Achievement Reward for College Scientist and the Society of Toxicology Hazelden Graduate Student Fellowship. She was then a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Hawaii Dept. of Environmental Biochemistry. Caroline was quite the scholar.
Caroline had a successful career as a Scientist in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She worked for; Burroughs-Wellcome Co. in North Carolina as a Senior Research Associate, Sterling-Winthrop Inc, in Collegeville, PA as a Senior Research Associate, Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA as a Department Group leader, Vertex Pharmaceuticals in San Diego, CA. as a Research Fellow, InnovaTID-Pharmaceuticals as a research consultant. Caroline then became an Independent DMPK Consultant for pharmaceutical companies for 10 years. Caroline was vice-President of the Southern California Drug Metabolism Group, of which had been founder, treasurer and member of the Steering Committee. She had also been a member of the New England Drug Metabolism Discussion Group, in which she had served as Secretary and Treasurer.
When not working Caroline loved to travel, laugh, go to the theater, enjoy nature, acquire decorations for her house, and be with her cats, family, and friends. She was particularly fond of spending time at her family’s cabin in Stanley, Idaho.
Caroline was preceded in death by her Mother Joyce Capel Decker, and her cats; Squirrel Nut, Little Boy, Sammie and Peanut. She is survived by: her father,Thomas Decker, her sister, Heather Mo; her brother-in-law, Bernard Mo; nephews Miles Mo and Fergus Mo; her cat Dulcinea; and many cousins including Stephanie Fowler, Sonja Wallace and Celeste Capel.
