I am so sorry to learn that Debbie has passed over!  Gone way too soon!  She was such a special woman!  At Allstate I worked for her as her Legal  Secretary, and then as her Paralegal for many years.  As everyone has stated, she was so smart and organized.  I always marveled at the amount of work she got done without ever being overwhelmed.  She was a special friend, and I treasure the memories of her.

I was very sad to hear of Debbie's passing.  She was a great person and lived her life pursuing what she loved.  May she rest in peace.  Prayers to Candace and her family.

I met Debbie at the Univ. of Texas in Odessa, Texas. We were roommates in a single- wide trailer on campus. What an experience! We were both there on tennis scholarships, but Debbie was a couple of years younger than me, so she was still on the team and finishing her bachelors, and I was working on my masters. We were two California fish out of water.

Debbie was always laughing and mischievous and I thought it was so fitting that she was from Southern California with her big Hollywood smile.  One time she tied my kitten and our other roommate’s kitten together with a piece of string. They kept trying to walk away from each other and falling over. I came in the room and she was laughing her head off. She always found ways to entertain herself!

When Debbie graduated and moved away, she sent me a Christmas card and a birthday card every year. We didn’t see each other for 14 or 15 years, but finally met again in New York. By that time we were both living in California again - her and Candace in So Cal and me and my partner in Nor Cal. We started meeting every year in different places in California - always with 2 Dobermans, who always had names starting with “J”. We always had fun on our little getaways. Debbie was funny and  kidding as ever and Candace always kept up with her.

As so many others have said, Debbie had a good sense of humor and if she was teasing you, you knew that she liked you. She was whip-smart, honest, confident, and always knew where she wanted to go and how she was going to get there. There never seemed to be a doubt in her mind. She was helpful to those who needed help, but didn’t suffer fools. 

Candace was the perfect partner for Debbie, because Debbie would not have wanted to be with anyone who couldn’t keep up with her - physically, mentally and emotionally. They went for long bike rides and walks, and were both strong, successful women.

I always enjoyed going to mediation with Deb. She had a great way of putting everyone at ease and I thoroughly enjoyed her wit and dry sense of humor.

I am truly sorry to hear this news.  Deb was a light and pleasure to work with.   I always looked forward to working with her as a defense attorney and mediator.  She had a light and peace about her that I appreciated and am thankful for.  Wishing peace and love to her family.

Bill had a graduation event that we all attended.  Debbie was always there for all of us.  We always said we were going to get together, and never found a way to make it happen.  I am so sorry I missed that opportunity.  My condolences to Candace and Jeffery, and I am sure her two JimBob and Jordon are lost without her.

At a formal AF banquet, didn't matter to her, wanted to get a picture and she said "go ahead"  so here you go.  Always fun to be around.

When I retrained into Paralegal my first assignment was George AFB and Debbie was always fun to work with and always made you feel welcome.

This news makes me so profoundly sad. I worked with Deb for a decade or so at Allstate.  Her wit and sense of humour was so appreciated, especially in those crazy days of trying back to back cases.  Her love and compassion  for her pups and animals was something we discussed often- as we were like minded.  I remember going to her  dad’s celebration of life after he had passed, and the love she had for her family was obvious.  Condolences to Candace and Jeffrey.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Deb’s passing. She was not only an exceptional mediator, but also a wonderful and trusted friend. Deb was the epitome of kindness, compassion, and integrity.  She  always took a genuine interest in my personal life and had amazing advice whenever I needed it .  Her warmth and wisdom touched everyone around her. I will miss her deeply—both professionally and personally. My heartfelt condolences to her family. I was privileged to have known her.

I had the pleasure of working with Deb for over a decade through her mediation practice.  It was always great to catch up with her and talk about our respective pups…. And she more often than not helped me settle my case. She was always smiling and I know many others in our community loved going to see her. All my condolences to her family. I can imagine she will be missed every day, but her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.

I worked with Debra for many years, she was so lovely and always found a way to bring peace and agreement in tough situations. Debra will truly be missed as a colleague and a friend. Condolences to her family during this time of loss & heartbreak 💔

Deb is one person I will never forget. She was so grounded, honest and fair. She had the best dry sense of humor and I also looked forward to seeing her at mediations. Even though I haven't seen her in years, I still think about her from time to time. She made a mark on me professionally and personally. She was one of a kind.

I am saddened to hear this.  Deb was not only an awesome mediator but a truly awesome individual!  She will be missed.

Sorry to read this.  Debra and I worked on several cases together as co-defendants,  Even tried one together.  Consummate professional with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.  Loved putting cases before her to mediate when she chose to be a neutral.  My condolences to her wife and family.  May her memory be a blessing.

I do not recall an occasion when I did not look forward to seeing and visiting Deb.  Be it a mediation, just a 'hi' and pop in as she shared  office space with another friend of mine,  or seeing her around town or at a 5K or 10K event, usually with Candace and Dobies.  Even with not seeing her as frequently the past 3-4 years, Deb is one of those good people that leaves a little void in your life when they are no longer here with us.

There was nobody like her.  She was a brilliant trial lawyer but never wanted to call attention to herself.  As a mediator ,she had more common sense than anyone I knew and always seemed to find unique and creative ways to get the case resolved.

But the Debbie I will remember the most has nothing to do with her professional achievements. She had a quick wit, great sense of humor and was just a kind and genuine soul.  I'll miss our regular picture exchanges and stories about our dogs. We truly lost a very very special person who I will greatly miss.

I have two funny stories to share.

1.  Debra was the mediator.  The defense attorney was a nice female.  I brought both of them flowers which I gave them at the mediation.  Debra laughed.

2.  Another time, it was opening day at the Del Mar races.  The place was slammed.  The betting lines were long.  I was in the line which said "special".  A woman came up to me and asked why it said "special".  I told her that it meant men only.  Later that day I ran into Debra.  The woman who I teased happened to be her mother.  Debra responded "I should have known it was you."

Debbie was a mentor, a friend, and a light.  She had the best even and fair hand to see things for what they truly are and to help others do the same. Her warmth and humor made every meeting special.  I will miss her beyond measure and feel so lucky to have had her on my life’s path.   Rest in peace my friend and thank you Candace for all you have done for her.
