On the evening of March 8, 2019, Edna J Childres, passed peacefully at the age of 62 years old due to an unexpected decline in health from Pneumonia & ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). She was surrounded and supported by her loving children, family, and medical staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital. Edna was born on October 26, 1956 in San Diego to the parents of Robert Childres and Frances Childres. She lived a fully active life filled with many blessings
Edna is survived by one sibling: Barbara Harris (Sister), three children: Isiah Titus (Son) & Brooke Roberts (Daughter-in-Law), Elijah Titus (Son) & Alyssa Titus (Daughter-in-Law) and Alicia Titus (Daughter) & Thomas Trujillo Jr (Son-in-Law) , three grandchildren: Lux Titus (Granddaughter), Amelia Titus (Granddaughter) and Thomas Trujillo (Grandson), along with having multiple living aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert & Frances Childres and her youngest child: Charlicia Titus (Daughter).
Edna has Master Degree in Psychology and Nursing. She is certified Newborn Specialist and San Diego Postpartum Doula (formerly known as "Baby Nurse'). She was a compassionate and successful business owner for 30 years of Loving Hands Doula Service. She was dedicated to assisting many families with the care of their newborns (preemies, newborns, twins, triplets, and babies with special needs) by offering varies services to their unique needs. She was a Foster Parent to many and Parent Facilitator for the State of California in the City of San Diego for Special Education for Medical and Physically Handicapped.
Edna was a dedicated single mother first and foremost. She raised her four children to become successful adults with strong values and high morals. She was very involved with all her children's activities and sports on top of being their number one supporter. She was known as "Ms. Titus" from her children’s friends and peers. She treasured her four children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a Grandma and enjoyed spoiling her three grandchildren as well as the family pets. She had a vivacious personality. She always made people around her laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking amazing meals & hosting family gatherings (she is known for her famous potato salad), traveling to Hawaii, trips to Disneyland, wine tasting, drinking her favorite cup of coffee, being at the beach, watching her favorite TV shows (recorded or on her phone apps) and staying current with the most recent politic news. She touched many lives with her passion for life. She will be missed dearly but she will live on forever in the hearts and memories of her family & friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:30pm-4:00pm. Location: El Camino Memorial 340 Melrose Ave. Encinitas, Ca 92024
