7/11 trips were always the best after she picked us up from school.

I saved lala's life one day. I, her grandson, was about 13 or 14 at the time. Lala is slicing something potatos or tomatoes anyways she wasn't using the proper protective tools needed and sliced her finger tip. Blood everywhere (not really) and she tries to play it off like nothing soaking 2 or 3 hand towels so she calls me from my room and says she needs an emergency trip to the hospital. Which is pretty far (1 block). She allows me to drive, a young kid responsible for her well being. Naturally i grabbed those keys and jumped right in the van to save her. She was on verge of life and still telling me to make a complete stop. Anyways i was a hero for a day, but that one moment of providing safety and security to my grandmother was nothing comparable to what she has given to her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lived many years after that. She lived her best life.
