After a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease our beloved Mary Anne peacefully left this world with family by her side on September 22, 2024. . Mary Anne was born in Katonah New York, the youngest of three siblings. After college she moved to Los Angeles and ultimately La Jolla where she settled, married and raised her family. She was a loving mom to Meredith, Michael and Mark, devoted wife to both Philip Hanna and Hugh Burchfiel, incredible Grammie to her 5 grandchildren and loyal friend to so many. Mary Anne lived over 50 years in La Jolla where she was an active and loved part of the community. She was a vivacious, adventurous and dynamic person. We remember her by her loving heart, her generous spirit, her infectious laughter and her gold bangles and her red lipstick. Rest in peace mom, until we meet again.

Services will be held for family and friends at Mary Star of the Sea Church, La Jolla

November 9, 2024 at 11am followed by a lunch gathering
