I'm sorry I'm so late in writing this but I just found out. In the 80's Rod made me short boards, long boards, boards for my kids, and he taught me how to paint them, so I did. He even made me a sailboard I'll never forget! Put a big Aeroforce sail on it and it would fly! I still have a picture on my wall of me sailing it taken by another legend Leroy Grannis. I remember Donna and that the girls liked Volleyball and Rod sure liked those Audi Quattros. I moved back to Kauai in '89 and we lost touch, which  I regret. I reached out over the last couple years, but couldn't connect. Rod was a quality person and my life is richer for having known him. Our condolences to Donna, the girls. and his family. I will never forget Rod. My dad had many boards shaped by Rod and I must of been 6 years old. He shaped my very first short board with the coolest custom rainbow flames that I was so proud to own. He was the coolest dude ever. I’m so sorry for your loss. He will always be remembered by me and my family.
