Monsignor was called home by The Lord on February 13, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Duagh, Co Kerry, Ireland.
Monsignor Timothy Harnett was the Pastor Emeritas at St John The Evangelist Church in Encinitas. He was ordained a Priest on June 3, 1956 in St. Mary's Seminary, Kilkenny, Ireland. He came to the United States in August of the same year and served in numerous parishes for the past 59 years. His last assignment was St. John's Church, Encinitas Boulevard, where he planned and built a new Church, School and Parish Hall.
Monsignor was loved and respected by all. He is survived by his brother, Michael; sister, Mary Mahoney and Sister Winifred; and nieces and nephews in Ireland.
Vigil will be at St. John's Church on February 18 at 6pm.
Funeral Mass is on Friday, February 19 at 10am.
