Calvin W. COLSTON

September 19, 1940November 18, 2020

Calvin (Wayne) Colston, age 80, of Port Clinton, OH and Englewood, FL passed away on November 18, 2020, while at a Hospice Facility in Florida. Cal was born on September 19, 1940, in Port Clinton, OH to Bryan and Hassie (Tunnell) Colston. He graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1958. He spent his entire career in the lumber business, starting at East Clinton Lumber and finishing at Port Clinton Lumber in 1997.

Cal devoted much of his life to bettering his community. His involvement spanned PC Athletic Boosters, the Downtown Coaches Association, and Little League Baseball as a coach and director. His dedication was recognized in 2012 with his induction in to the Port Clinton Athletic Hall of Fame as a community member. Cal also valued education and served 16 years on the PCHS school board, serving as the President for the final 10 years.

Cal was a man beloved by many, which was evidenced by the way he spent his free time. He was a 50-year member of both the Elks and Moose Lodge. He also held memberships at the PC Yacht Club, PC Kiwanis and Colonial Club. He spent his winters in Englewood, FL, which allowed him to turn his passion for golfing into a year round hobby. Most of all, Cal loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herm Colston, Bob Colston, Dean Colston; sister, Ima Colston; and son Paul Colston.

Survivors include: wife, Diane (Vivian) Colston; sister, Shirley Millinger; sons, Tracy (Terri) Colston, Port Clinton, OH, Tim (Cheryl) Colston, Fremont, OH; daughter-in-law, Anna Colston, AL; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Renner, Brownsburg, IN, Derek (Kayla) Colston, Hillard, OH, Cory Colston, Port Clinton, OH, McKenzie Colston, Durham, NC, and Andrew Colston, Fremont, OH; great grandchildren, Reagan, Jackson, and Madison Renner, Brownsburg, IN.

Cal will be missed by all of his family and friends who loved him.

Diane and family, I'm so sorry to learn of Uncle Wayne's passing. I'm grateful that we were able to reconnect in the not too distant past. It was fun to spend the day with the both of you in Ft. Lauderdale at the Casino, and at Brent, Jr.'s home. May you be comforted by family and friends and the wonderful memories you share.

What a great friend we shared with Cal. Enjoyed playing golf and dining out just sharing memories. Cal, had a love to play cards with the guys , Roger , said Cal was the won that got most of his chips (lol).
