He was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania on April 11, 1926 to Edward and Opal (McIntyre) Hartman who preceded him in death along with his wife of 65 years Ida McIntyre, and his sister Irene (McIntyre) Bauer.
He worked as an accountant at Chrysler Corporation, and Sperry Vickers, and earned Master of Business Administration & Master of Arts degrees at Wayne State University. He was as member of the Englewood Elks, a 32nd degree Mason at the Englewood Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Sarasota Sahib Shriners Pipes and Drums unit. He was an optimist, had a happy personality, and was a caring father and grandfather.
Edward is survived by children Charles E. McIntyre (Linda) of Englewood, Cecilia M. McIntyre and Brian A. McIntyre of Port Charlotte, Colleen A. (Larry) Strader of Taylor, MI., Calvin J. McIntyre of Peoria, AZ., and Carl J. McIntyre (Do Bui Trung) of Venice. He is also survived by grandchildren Brian McIntyre Jr., Patrick McIntyre, Jacqueline McIntyre, Victoria McIntyre, Thomas Baize; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Gulf Pines Memorial Park in the Chapel of Peace, 2401 Englewood Rd, Englewood, FL 34223. Burial will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park mausoleum.
Arrangements are by Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
