Eloise Grace Cover

Eloise Grace (Pool) Cover, age 98, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2021 at The Meridian at Westwood, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in Wyandot County, Ohio on December 26, 1922 to her parents, the late Ira and Grace (Alspach) Pool. After graduating from Mount Zion High School, she worked with the Civil Service and married her high school sweetheart, Minor Dale Cover, and followed his Naval ship from port to port during World War II. She was a homemaker and mother. As her children were growing up, she volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader, a Girl Scout Leader, March of Dimes canvaser, librarian, golf tournaments and numerous other organizations. While living at Westwood, she continued to be very active, as a Welcome Ambassador, Election Board Bailiff, Café, bridge, and other card games. She was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Dale Cover, and daughter-in-law, Bernadette (Swartz) Cover. She is survived by her two children, Minor Dale Cover II of Shalimar, Florida, and Deborah Ann (Cover) Strickland of The Villages, Florida; 3 grandchildren: Minor Dale Cover III of Destin, Florida, Stephanie (Strickland) Underwood of Pittsville, MD, and Richard Larry Strickland II of Fredericksburg, VA; and 9 great grandchildren: Minor & Taylor of Destin, FL, Brandon, Kaitlyn & Megan of Pittsville, MD, and Karla, Jacob, Matthew, & Christina of Chaptico, MD. A graveside service for Eloise will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 1:00 PM at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, 2401 Englewood Rd, Englewood, FL 34223.
