

John lost both of his parents at an early age, demonstrating remarkable strength he left school at 15 to pursue an apprenticeship as an engineer. Simultaneously, he studied at night to earn his engineering degree. His professional journey began with a successful career at a major oil company before he took early retirement to launch his own thriving business, utilizing his expertise in base and lubricating oils.
At 25, John met Wendy, the love of his life. A true love story, their romance led to marriage just five months later, a union that would have celebrated its 60th anniversary this September. Together, they faced life's highs and lows, including the loss of their youngest son, Julian. John and Wendy worked happily side by side for thirty years in their business venture.
Throughout their lives, John and Wendy shared a passion for travel and exploring the world. John truly loved being active, whether walking, biking, or being out on the water on his boat. He had many friends across the world and was known by everyone for his sense of humor and adventurous spirit. Those who knew him will fondly remember the mischievous sparkle in his eye and his vast library of jokes.
Fondly known as "Gambad" by the family, John was loved by everyone whose lives he touched. John is survived by his loving wife Wendy, his children Andy and Paula, and grandchildren Hope, Cooper, Hudson, Chance, Kern, and Marcus. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.
