

He was predeceased by his mother, Madeline and father, Paul Hardman and also his son, David Hardman.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jackie; three children Joe Hardman (Soon), Kathy McPhillips (Joe), and Pam Hennessey (John); six grandchildren Alexandra, Austin, Megan, Molly, Adam, and Seojun; and one great-grandchild, Penelope. He is also survived by his loving sister, Alice Hardman-Vincent, and by his loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geri and Steve Fry, of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Jack retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in September of 1985, after serving 28 years of both active duty and Army Reserves. He retired in 1989, after many years of teaching 9th grade French and Spanish.
Jack was an “avid” genealogist. It was a favorite hobby for many years. He worked tirelessly to bring unknown and lost family members together.
He also had a love for camping and would travel with his wife and four children (and family dog, Heidi) every summer, to different campgrounds around the United States.
Jack and his wife, Jackie, just celebrated 66 years of marriage on November 9, 2023.
A Funeral Mass will be held for John on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 770 Kilbourne Ave., Englewood, FL 34223. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery with Military Honors.
