It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Izzo, born on February 17, 1950, in the Bronx, New York. A man of many talents, John lived a full and remarkable life, sharing his love for music, his passion for helping others, and his dedication to hard work.
A gifted musician, John was known for his mastery of the saxophone, which he played with great joy in a jazz band. His talent extended to the piano as well, and his deep appreciation for all things entertainment—from sports and movies to reading and, of course, music—was a testament to his boundless energy and zest for life.
Professionally, John was a successful accountant whose work helped countless families and small businesses thrive. His commitment to excellence and his generous spirit made him not only a brilliant professional but a trusted friend and mentor to many. His life was marked by diligence, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on everyone he encountered.
John is survived by his daughter, Heather Wardell, and son-in-law, Joseph Wardell, as well as his niece, Anne Marie and his nephews, Michael Izzo and Louis Izzo, and his sister-in-law, Diane Izzo. His family will forever cherish the memories of his warm smile, infectious laugh, and the love he so freely gave. John’s legacy will live on in the music he created, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us always.
May he rest in peace, playing jazz in the heavens.
