

Born on May 2, 1950 in Staten Island New York to Thomas (dec) and Helen Perricone, Dr. Kleinlein received her Bachelor's and
Master"s in English from Wagner College on Staten Island and subsequently taught high school and college English in New York and
New Jersey. While still teaching, 'Dr. Kleinlein became the first woman in the Army National Guard in 1974, serving in the 42nd (Rainbow) Infantry Division and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. After leaving teaching, she became the Manager of Sales training for Pfizer/Roerig Pharmaceuticals and obtained an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Rutgers' University in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Kleinlein then became the Director of Sales Training for
Sterling/Winthrop Drug and ultimately the Director of Training and Development for the North and South America divisions of Reuters America in New York. After moving to Englewood in 1991, Dr. Kleinlein became a community activist serving on numerous boards including the Sarasota Planning Commission, Board of Directors for Bon Secours Hospital in Pt. Charlotte, Board of Directors for Venice Regional Hospital, SCOPE, Sarasota County Library Advisory Board, Sarasota County Education Foundation, Englewood Inter-Agency Council and many others. She served as an elected member of the
Sarasota County School Board for 8 years and as Chair for two terms. During this time, she began working for the
Diocese of Venice and received a Master's in Theology from Barry University and a Doctorate in Education from the
Graduate Theological Foundation in South Bend, Indiana. She served the Diocese for 18 years, first as parish Director of Faith Formation for St. Raphael Parish in Englewood, then as Diocesan Director of Catechesis and finally as the President of the Institute for Catholic Studies and Formation. Dr. Kleinlein served on the Executive Board of the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership. She was a regular contributor to Religion Teacher's Journal and Today's Parish magazines. Dr. Kleinlein traveled the world extensively, enjoyed golf, scuba diving, Zumba, and spending time with her many friends. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, her mother Helen Perricone, her sister Judy and brother-in-law Brendan Tufaro, her sister Tracey and
Brother-in-law Robin Whybrow, her step-children Kenny Kleinlein Jr. and Kristine Kalinowski, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
