Obituary of Mary E. Crocker
Mary Elizabeth Crocker (Walker) of Venice and formerly of Englewood, Florida, died September 17, 2022 at the age of 86. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Elizabeth Walker (Emerson) and Lewis John Walker. Mary leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-four years, William H. Crocker of Venice, her three children; William Crocker (Patricia Crocker), Diane Del Rosso, John Crocker, and six grandchildren; Katrina Crocker (Ryan Pollin), Michelle Crocker (Kevin Wilhelm), Nicholas Del Rosso, Jennifer Del Rosso, Eliezer Gans-Crocker, and Ezra Gans-Crocker. Mary was a registered nurse who graduated from Newport Hospital’s School of Nursing. Mary made her home with her husband and family in Massachusetts. After a long career as a nurse, Mary and her loving husband retired to their home in Englewood, Florida. Mary made friends easily, spent her time researching genealogy and volunteering and participating in many philanthropic organizations; The Elks (Englewood and Grand Lodge Member of the BPOE DOES Treasurer), Lemon Bay Woman’s Club (President), Daughters of the American Revolution (Myakka Chapter Regent and Manasota Regents Council President), Colonial Dames XVII Century, and Daughters of the American Colonists (Recording Secretary). Mary loved spending time with family and friends whether it was over a simple meal, playing cards or watching a sunset from the beach. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, and attend a celebration of life to be held at 10:30 AM at the Lemon Bay Funeral Home on September 26, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Myakka Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
