Richard David GEORGE
May 20, 1940 – March 29, 2021
Richard David George, 80, of Gulfstream Boulevard, died on March 29th, 2021 at Bayfront Hospital, in Port Charlotte.
He was born in Saybrook Township, Ohio on May 20th, 1940, to David L. George and Beatrice E. (Frohnaple) George in their home on New London Road.
He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1959.
He worked for his father in early adulthood until he eventually secured a position in the forging and Heat treating industry. While living in Saybrook Township, he also served as a volunteer firefighter for Many years for the township. In 1979, he relocated his family to Clark County, Ohio to secure a Position with Dayton Forging and Heat Treating where he worked until retirement in 2001. After Retirement, he and his wife relocated to Englewood.
He is survived by his wife Florence Sandra (Mack) George, whom he married in March of 1959, sons Richard David George Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Scott Edwin George of Hudson, Ohio, and Daughters Suzanne Marie (George) Click of Georgetown, Ohio and Wendy Dianne (George) Heithrink Of Troy, Ohio. He and Florence have 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood on April 6th at 7:00 PM. Live streaming will also be streamed on line from the church. Donations and memorials can be made to the same in his name.
