I remember Bob Hayden as a good friend of my brother Dan. They were very good friends in high school and beyond. My relationship with Bob was Sigma Chi and Miami University. Bob was dedicated to both his alma mater and his beloved fraternity. Bob and brother Joe were fixtures at celebrating new young men to the Sigma Chi brotherhood. Bob was a man’s man and a great role model for his fraternity brothers. He is dearly missed by all those he touched in his life.

Sorry for the delay in sending this message. I just learned of Bob’s passing.
Bob and his wonderful family were good friends of our family in Cincinnati. I followed Bob to Miami and followed his lead in two areas: Sigma Chi and the NROTC. I will always remember the Sigma Chi ritual with Bob and brother Joe assisting in receiving my White Cross. Upon graduation I followed Bob with my commission in the U S Navy.
When I left active duty in 1970, Bob was the first person I called for career advice. As always he was helpful to me in sharing his views on civilian life.
One of my lasting memories of Bob was his feelings about Miami and Sigma Chi. He gave much of his adult life in service to his alma marta and his beloved Alpha Chapter of Sigma Chi. He spent many years guiding the house corporation through challenging times. He received the highest awards from the national chapter for his service and devotion to the fraternity.
We will all miss you Bob. You were a real role model for me.
