Cancer Center in Tampa FL after a brave, hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on
December 2nd 1964 in Clarkson KY the son of Quinten Jones and Wanda (Holcomb) Crumb.
He was educated in Braceville and Mazon schools. He was employed at Wauponsee Twp. and
later the City of Venice FL in the utilities department.
Rodney married Melissa Greiff in Morris on July 6th 1986. They lived and raised their family in
Morris till they moved to Port Charlotte FL in October of 2016. He was a loving and devoted
husband, father, and grampy. His family meant the world to him and he was always involved in
his children’s activities. Rodney loved to BBQ especially with a smoker, swimming in his pool,
boating with his in laws to Rum Bay for a Jamaican Me Crazy cocktail. Weekends with his family
was his favorite past time and enjoyed life to the fullest.We will all remember his wit and ability
to make everyone laugh. He was a long time member of the Grundy County Rod and Gun Club,
A member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1933 in Englewood FL., and the Manatee Moose
Legion number 58.
Preceding him were his father Quinten and mother Wanda, a sister Deborah (Jones) Sanders.
Rodney is survived by his wife, his children Zachary (Taylor) Jones of Lewis Center, Ohio,
Brody (Sarah) Jones of Mazon, Seth Jones of Port Charlotte FL. grandchildren Kenzie, Jaxson,
and Gunner, step father Henry Crumb Sr. of Dwight, two sisters Paula (Joseluis) Bracamontes
of Joliet, Rebecca (Patrick) Zappa of Dwight, one brother Henry Crumb Jr. of Joliet, mother and
father-in-law Gerald (Patricia) Greiff of Englewood FL. and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life is being planned at the Morris VFW on December 6th at 5pm to 8pm for all
friends and family to gather and share stories about Rodney. There are so so many. Cremation
rites are being performed by Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood FL. You can visit their
