Shirley A. DeCotis, Englewood, Florida, March 16, 1940 – March 11, 2025 “Shirl” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, just days before her 85th birthday. She is now back in Bob’s arms whom she missed dearly after he died suddenly over a year ago. Shirl had a grand personality and always made room for all in her heart and home. She was a loving, caring, generous, compassionate mother, always present in her children’s lives. She exemplified the values, virtues, work ethic and character to succeed in life. Her large friend group valued her loyalty, robust humor and eagerness to gather. Shirl was born in Manchester, NH, and attended West High School. She took immense pride in her long career as purchasing agent for the Manchester Highway Department. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Fire Chief Robert DeCotis, and is survived by her brother Russ Thibeault, her children Laurie Jette and her husband Glen, Brian Smith and Daren Smith. Shirl also leaves her grandchildren, Ryan Jette and his fiancée Stephanie, Sam Smith, and beautiful great-granddaughters Genesis and Riley.
