

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Mae Ruberg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born in Cincinnati and later retired to Englewood Florida. She lived a life filled with faith, love, family, and cherished memories.
Shirley was the devoted wife of the late Jerry Ruberg, whose love she cherished beyond measure. Together, they built a life centered around family, a foundation she carried forward in all that she did. She was the proud mother of five sons: Tom Ruberg (deceased) and his late wife Jackie, Ken Ruberg (Diane), Mark Ruberg (Linda), Randy Ruberg (Connie), and Dave Ruberg (Robben).
Her love extended deeply to her siblings, including her late brothers Glen Rieman (Betty - deceased), Dick Rieman (Ginny), and Dale Rieman, as well as her surviving brother Jim Rieman (Claire) and her sister Joan Shay (Clair - deceased).
Shirley was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the heart of her family, always finding joy in their successes, supporting them through challenges, and celebrating life's simple pleasures.
Shirley enjoyed tending to her beautiful Florida home, feeding and watching birds, and being with family while taking peaceful boat rides. Shirley passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2025.
To celebrate Shirley’s life, a Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church (5265 Placida Road, Grove City, FL) on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11AM with interment of ashes to follow in the memorial garden.
For family and friends in Cincinnati, there will a Mass of intention on June 15,2025 at 10:00am at St. Margaret Mary Church (1830 W. Galbraith Rd, North College Hill, OH). Following the Mass, a celebration of Shirley’s life will be held from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM at Willow Event Center (7881 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH).
