Arthur Gregory

GREGORY, Arthur 84 of Dayton passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012. Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Mary Jo (nee Conti) Gregory, two sons and daughters-in-law Phillip A. and Donna Gregory of Dayton, David F. and Tammy Gregory of Greenville, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law June and Larry Hammond of Lake Wales, Florida; sister Doris Imwalle of Brookville, Ohio; sister-in-law Gloria Murphey of Glen St. Mary, Florida; seven grandchildren Cherie Siercy, Mike Hammond, Heather Gregory, Jennifer Porter, Matt Moritz, Jamin Schilling, Travis Gregory; five great-grandchildren Amanda, Maddy, Emma, Paige, Isabelle; six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Marion Arthur and Edna L. (nee Zieger) Gregory and a brother Richard L. Gregory. He had attended Roosevelt High School, was a WW II Navy Veteran serving onboard the USS Wantuck, he was retired from the Dayton Daily News, enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting trap and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Dayton, Ohio. A celebration of Arthur’s life will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGELWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, burial will follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville, Ohio, his family will receive friends Tuesday evening February 28 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
