

COX, Charles M. “Charlie”, 86 of New Carlisle, passed away at his home Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was born November 19, 1928 in Hudson, Illinois the son of James H. and Cora Belle (Forney) Cox. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a chemist at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James, Edwin, Roland, Robert, Otis and Harry; sisters Flora Wilson and Margaret Satterfield. Charlie is survived by a sister-in-law Jean Cox of Grover, MO, nine nieces and nephews including Sharon Cox Quiram of Hudson Illinois. Also surviving are his Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3491 Family and many friends. He was a founding member of FOE Aerie 3491 New Carlisle, Ohio, was a National Shotgun Champion for FOE 3491, is a member of the State of Ohio FOE 3491 Hall of Fame. He was also Past Worthy President and Chaplain on the Ritual Team for many years. Charlie also enjoyed mushroom hunting in Michigan, was active at the Fairborn Senior Center, was a duel member of Tipp City FOE 2201 and Fairborn FOE 2461 and he enjoyed exercising daily at the Eagles. There will be a Celebration of Charlie’s Life, Friday, February 6, 2015 starting at 5:00 pm at the FOE Aerie 3491, 376 Quick Road, New Carlisle, Ohio.
