OBLINGER Charles J. “Charlie” 85 of Clayton, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton, Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Frye, sister Rita Wetzel. Charlie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 39 years Annette; children Linda Sluder, Michael (Soraya) Oblinger, Michelle Oblinger, Jeffrey Sr. (Kim) Oblinger, Theresa (Charles) Vandersluijs, Michael Bonkowski, and Melea (Joel) Butcher, brother Dan (Carolyn) Oblinger. Also surviving are grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy and Nicholas Sluder, Shaundra Fyre, Robert Frye, Jeffrey Oblinger Jr., Benjamin (Maria) Oblinger, Derek (Stacy) Vandersluijs, Alex (Paige) Vandersluijs and Gretchen (Patrick) Vandersluijs-Wolfe; numerous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and very good family friend for many years Dan Seibert. Woodworking was his favorite pastime and he found great joy in loving and caring for the family dachshunds. Charlie received his B.S. in Chemistry from Xavier University and worked as a Staff Engineer and private contractor at WPAFB for many years. He also had numerous scientific publications throughout his career. We will miss his dry sense of humor. Charlie’s family will receive friends at a graveside service 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at FOREST HILLS MEMORIAL GARDENS, 11890 North Dixie Drive, Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
