

TOMBOLY, Elza Helen, 94 of Englewood, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was born March 27, 1917 in Tolna, Hungary to Joseph and Ethel (nee Ketterer) Perler who precede her in death, also preceding her in death is her beloved husband of 37 years Dr. Elmer Tomboly in August 1983. Elza is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law Judith “Judy” E. and Gregory "Greg" A.M. Smith of New Paris, Susan E. Tomboly of Cincinnati, one son and daughter-in-law Elmer Samuel Perler-Tomboly MD and V. Lynn Poole MD of Cincinnati, grandchildren Sara D. Tomboly of Mason, Shery L. and her husband Shawn Goodwin, Lara A. Smith all of Cincinnati, Alyssa J. Hoover Phar.D of Springboro, Tomas Bela, Stefan Imre, Evelyn R. and Ilona T. Perler-Tomboly all of Cincinnati. Elza was a high school biology/chemistry teacher in Hungary, was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Hungarian Club, Christian Women’s Club, she was an accomplished pianist and taught piano, played the accordion and enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramic painting and baking. Her family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1000 West Wenger Road, Englewood with Father Kenneth Baker celebrant, burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Phillipsburg, Ohio. Contributions if desired may be made to the American Lung Association, 4050 Executive Park Drive, Suite 402, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241 in memory of Elza.
