

Frederick K. Clark, age 93, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on January 8, 2019. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mabel (Downing) Clark; father, Kenneth Clark, and mother Mary Clark Newberry; step-mother, Anne Clark, as well as his siblings Eileen McFadden, Richard Clark and Roberta Newberry. He will be missed tremendously by his children, Timothy Clark, Elizabeth Clark and husband Joe Brown, Amy Jomantas and husband Jeff Phelps, his sister, Barbara Clark, as well as grandchildren, Chris Brown, Matthew Brown, Nicole Jomantas, Genevieve Jomantas (Josh Treadway), Andrew Jomantas (Katie Jomantas), and great-grandchildren, Noelle and Brady Treadway as well as nieces and nephews and other family. Fred was a graduate of Fairview High School and a veteran of WWII. He graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in education, a MS at Miami University, and post graduate work at Wisconsin. He was a dedicated teacher, principal, and administrator for Dayton Public Schools for more than 30 years, served as a long-term advocate working for persons with developmental disabilities and was a board member at Miami Valley Innovations and Choices in Community Living. He spent the last two decades of his life volunteering with the hot meal program at St. Paul Lutheran’s Church. He attended Fairview United Methodist Church and taught their Faith Class for years. Friends are invited to the visitation at 9:30 am at Fairview United Methodist Church on January 12, 2019, with the funeral afterward at 10:00. A luncheon at the church will follow the funeral with burial afterwards at Arlington Cemetery in Brookville, Ohio.
