Irene Louise Holmes

HOLMES, Irene Louise "Angel" 99 of Springfield, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. She was born January 18, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of John Thomas and Mercedes (Corrello) Angel, who precede her in death, a Husband of 58 years, Otis Delmore Holmes precedes her, son Wayne Austin Holmes and a sister Mary Lynn Angel. Irene leaves to cherish her memory three sons and daughters-in-law William "Bill" and Joyce Holmes of Enon, Thomas and Debbie Holmes of Cincinnati, Keith and Linda Holmes of Springfield, daughter-in-law Linda Holmes of Crestview, Florida, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. She has been a longtime member of the Springfield Seventh Day Adventist Church. Irene worked with The Town and Country Day School as a Teacher's Aide and bus driver. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at the SPRINGFIELD SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, 151 Bird Road, Springfield, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 starting at 12 noon, followed by a Celebration of her life at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Michael Stough II presiding. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park, New Carlisle. Arrangements entrusted to the Tobias Funeral Home, Englewood, Ohio Chapel.
