Leona Post Hartnagel

Leona Mary Hartnagel (Post), age 89, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Brookhaven Retirement Community in Brookville, Ohio. She was born May 24, 1922 in Trinity, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence to whom she was married to for 46 years in 1987; parents John and Agnes (Schroer) Post; sisters Rita Moritz, Lelia Minich, Catherine Mitchell, Margaret Naumcheff, Rose Ann Costello. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Karen Hartnagel, Daniel and Cindy Hartnagel, Ronald and Joan Hartnagel as well as four grandchildren, Jade (Kat) Hartnagel, Aimee (Terry) Martin, Evan Hartnagel, Erin Hartnagel, and three great-grandsons Christian, Zachary and Brendan, she is also is survived by her sister Mary Agnes Ording and husband Ralph of St. Henry, Ohio and brother Victor Post of Florida and brother in laws Joseph Naumcheff and David Costello. Devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed her garden and flowers, fishing and travelling with her husband. She was fond of needlework, playing cards and visiting with relatives and friends. She was a 56 year member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Shiloh. Leona’s family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, Wednesday evening, July 6, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday July 7, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5401 North Main Street, Dayton with Father Jim Miller celebrant, burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420 in memory of Leona.
