Leonard Richard Fisher
April 11, 1948 – October 28, 2017
FISHER, Leonard R. 69 of Clayton, Ohio passed away at Kettering Medical Center surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was born April 11, 1948, to the late Harry R. & Nettie J. (Brown) Fisher. In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his brother Tommy & sister Ruthie. He was devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years Pam B. (McKee) Fisher; children: Brandy R. (Jerome) Anderson, Leonard R. Fisher II; grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Bell, Taylor, Zachary & Nadia Anderson, Sophia & Samuel Fisher; great-grandchildren: Liam and Paxton Bell; sister: Velma (Charles) Thorpe, and Shelia Green; brothers: Harry (Linda) Fisher, Bill (Barbara) Fisher, and Tony (Katie) McKee; as well as nieces and nephews Tammy (Dodge) Hensley, Charles Thorpe (Old Man), Harry (Dawn) Thorpe, Nett Allen, Billy (Amanda) Thorpe, Lula Thorpe, Christina (Josh) Mowry, Martha (Zach) Rutan, Jimmy (Allison) Fisher, Lynn (Fisher) Dampier, Tommy Fisher, Freda (Fisher) Summey, Darin McKee, Brian McKee and many more great nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Leonard retired from GM after 30 dedicated years. He also proudly served his country from 1968 - 1970 in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War as a member of the 4th Infantry Division. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the ENGLEWOOD CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY OF GOD, 415 North Main Street, Englewood, Ohio 45322 starting at 6:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Leonard's Life at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tim Scarbrough presiding. His family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and medical staff in the ICU at Kettering Medical Center and the nurses and therapist with Kettering home care for the kind and compassionate care during this difficult time. So sorry to hear this about Leonard. I am his cousin, Carol (Ruth Williams daughter.) Haven't seen Leonard for many years but my memories of our childhood bring back lots of good times.
