Nancy Jane Sommer

SOMMER, Nancy Jane 86 of Piqua, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 13 years Charles “Doc” Sommer in 1965, daughter Deborah Ann Fredericks in 2014, brother John Kruse in January 2018. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory son and daughter-in-law Charles “Al” and Dee Sommer, daughter and son-in-law Terrie and Michael Manuel. Also surviving are five grandchildren David (Holly) Sommer, Becki (Scott) Fredericks-Roth, Jenny (Matt) McElroy, Jeff (Misty) Manuel, Jackie (Dan) Branner; six great-grandchildren Tim Manuel, Ollie McElroy, Maddie Manuel, Katie McElroy, Emery Branner, Aubrey Branner; her precious dogs Princess, Puff and Jackie. Nancy was the former owner of Air City Wine Store on North Dixie Drive. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road starting at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Nancy’s Life at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Richard Triplett presiding. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to Ohio’s Hospice or the Montgomery County Humane Society.
