

MURPHY, Norma Louise 94 of Dayton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at home with her family at her side. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Roberta L. Morrison of Dayton, one son and daughter-in-law Michael D. and April Murphy of Bolivia, NC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and their spouses Rebecca (Curt) Roach, Brooke (Aaron) Horvath, Sara (Toby) Williams, Meredith (Mike) Kellerher, Matthew (Laura) Murphy, Charles Morrison, Jonathan (Robin) Murphy, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law Lowell E. and Darlene Swank. Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years Harry D. Murphy in 2009, her parents Esta and Oma (nee Utz) Swank, one granddaughter Jennifer Morrison and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Murphy. Norma loved music playing the piano, organ and accordion. She had been a Championship Roller Skater in the 1930’s, was a lifeguard, a youth group counselor with Epworth Methodist Church in the 1950’s and had been a member of the Dayton Corale. She was also retired from Good Samaritan Hospital, was a member of Happy Corner Church of the Brethren and a former volunteer with the Arthritis Association Dayton Chapter. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road, Sunday August 30, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Norma’s life will be Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
