SHARPE, Verlos G. “Jack”, 89 of Englewood, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Jack is survived by one son and daughter-in-law David and Tammy Sharpe of Union, two daughters and one son-in-law Rita and John Turnbach of IN, Pamela Sharpe of Beavercreek. Also surviving are two granddaughters Andrea (John) Madewell of West Milton, Meghan McConnell of Beavercreek, two grandsons Michael Sharpe of Tipp City, Misha McConnell of Kettering, two great-grandsons Mitchell and Leland Madewell; special friend Diane McDonald of FL and his best friend pet dog MiaMia. Mr. Sharpe is a graduate of Purdue University, and attended the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University and Harvard. He has held top executive positions in several major corporations over the past 40 years as follows: Assistant Chief Engineer, Frigidaire Division of General Motors, Vice-President, Operations, Addressograph Multigraph Corporation, Vice-President, Engineering, Rockwell International, Group Vice-President, Engineering, Maytag Corporation, Vice-President, Business Development, Maytag Corporation, Group Vice-President, Engineering, Magic Chef Corporation. Mr. Sharpe has had a broad experience in technical fields, and has done extensive technical consulting work in water technology and vending machine design. Mr. Sharpe was a director and major stockholder in the Ohke Company, a Florida Corporation. Jack was also a WW II Naval Veteran, was an avid golfer, loved traveling and was past owner of Ohke Water Company and Helson Yacht Mfg. Co. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road on Saturday, December 21, 2013 starting at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Jack’s life at 3:00 pm with Chaplain Phil Hohulin of Vitas Hospice presiding.
