

DORSEY, William Earl, 84, of the BrookHaven Retirement Community passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton, Thursday, March 3, 2016. Bill was born March 14, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marilyn, mother Lillian Snyder, baby sister Eva Marie, and grandparents Calvin and Ida Dorsey. He is survived by his daughter Kym DeMint of Brookville, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Patricia Dorsey of Houston, Texas, and grandsons Jeremy and Jonathan. Bill was a 1949 graduate of Stivers High School where he played football and baseball, and ran track. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, including 19 months in Germany. Bill loved sports, and he was a volunteer coach with the Northmont Wee Bolts football team for three years and also played softball for NCR and Globe Motors for many years. Bill worked 39 years at Globe Motors and retired in 1997 as the Dayton Division Quality Manager. The family will hold private services. Bill will be interred with his wife Marilyn at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45420 in memory of Bill.
