Cathie Diane Calder, born on January 31, 1942, passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 84. A resident of San Marcos, California, Cathie was a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Cathie grew up in the Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania area and graduated from Washington Township High School in 1961. Her career was diverse and fulfilling, having worked in a flower shop, as a clerk for an insurance firm, and as a legal clerk for a law firm until her retirement in 2009.
She is survived by her husband, William Thomas Calder and by her daughter, Linda Darlene Brinkmeier of Escondido, California; her sons, Michael Paul Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mark William Turner of Martinsburg, West Virginia; her stepdaughter, Cheri Anne Jones of Raleigh, North Carolina; and her stepson, William John Calder of Lenoir, North Carolina. Cathie is also survived by her brother, John D. Marshall of Edgar Springs, Missouri, and her sister, Linda Bortz of Avonmore, Pennsylvania. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cathie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Escondido, California. She had a passion for gardening, enjoyed attending car shows, and was an avid collector of Betty Boop memorabilia, nutcrackers, and Thomas Kinkade paintings. Her love for these hobbies reflected her vibrant and joyful personality.
Known for her kindness to neighbors and friends, Cathie was a happy-go-lucky person who loved everyone. Her fun-loving sense of humor and smile will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
