Donnie Lucille Welch Ware was born on January 10, 1945 to Nadine Grey. Lucille was one of twelve children. On March 5, 2021, Lucille departed from this life.

Lucille grew up in the Greater Los Angeles area, where she was raised by her mother and extended family. She attended and completed her primary education and graduated from Centennial High School in 1962. She met and married the love of her life, Nathan Lawrence Ware in 1967. They raised three children, Katherine, Herman Raythel and Nathan Lawrence Jr. Together, they purchased a home, and raised their children in Compton, California, and in later life, the family moved to Escondido.

Lucille was a mother figure for her siblings when her mother passed away. It was a hard job, but she did it well. She was most valued for her love and commitment to her family. In the early years of her marriage, Lucille was a stay-at-home mother, and raised her children full time. They welcomed others into their home for family gatherings and parties. She loved to listen to Christian music and be happy. Later in life, Lucille went to a vocational school and received a certification to be a Certified Nursing Assistant, as she enjoyed helping and caring for others. She worked alongside her daughter in business providing in-home care to the elderly for a number of years.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lawrence Ware, her mother, Nadine Grey, and her siblings James, Raymond, and Katherine.

She leaves behind her children: Katherine Lawrence, Herman Raythel Ware, and Nathan Lawrence Ware Jr.; Her siblings: Michael Odom (Maria), John K. Odom, Gregory Odom, Marion Harris, Thurston Davis, Yvonne Davis, Dalton Odom (Beverly), Grace Henderson; Eight grandchildren, Nyla D. Bailey-Ware, Herman Raythel Ware Jr., Tyree L. Ware, Damion R. Ware, Davontay Mack, Robbbie McClinton, Raytorsha Robinson, Nathan Ware 3rd, Danni E. Ware and 3 great grandchildren, Dallas H. Ware and Justice R Ware; Lucille had a host of nieces and nephews: Mychael Odom, Mosi Odom, Andrew Odom, John Odom, Ann Marie Odom and Jeffrey Patterson just to name a few.

Lucille loved God, her family, life and friends. She also loved to have a good time. To truly know her was like having a physical angel around you. She had one of the biggest hearts and touched so many lives, I don’t think she ever really know how much of a difference she made in the lives of those that knew her. She will be heavily missed and always loved.
