I've always known you as a fighter and a winner Grandma. You were such a creative person who influenced my life in so many unimaginable ways and I will always be grateful for the impact that you had on my life. Grandma Doris, your headstrong soul and undying spunk will live on forever. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, laughs, and love. Rest easy, you will be missed.

Doris was a singular individual. She was a very bright career woman and an articulate, wise woman who set many examples for her family and friends. I feel honored to have known her. I'm even more honored to know we were family, though a few layers apart. Rest peacefully, my friend - you've earned it. God bless!!

Dearest Grandma, We miss you so much! Sometimes it seems like just yesterday  that we were out at Mission Bay having a picnic at the park while your dog Trouble was running around with the girls. I don't think I will be able to walk into a Baskin Robbins without thinking of you as that was my kids favorite thing to do when we came to visit you. I remember how the girls loved to collect your macadamia nuts on your lawn and if there weren't any you would go into your storage and get some to throw on the lawn for them. The girls (Lucy, Kacey and Kennedy) all loved you so much as did Ken and I.  You were like a mother in law to me and I appreciate that so much as I never had the privilege to meet Rose in this life.  I am sure you are having a happy reunion with Rose and Richard and your mom and all those who passed before.  Thank you for the amazing woman you were and always will be.  You helped so many in your life and may you now Rest In Peace knowing you lived a wonderful life. We will miss you always, until we meet again.  Love you!

I meet Doris moonlight bowling with her husband Richard and several other friends she introduced me to my future wife Brenda,she was a very special person who helped Brenda and myself raise her 4 grandchildren Michael,Daniel,Jonathan and Olivia we had lots of fun and laughs at her home in Clairemont with some great dinners especial at christmas,birthdays and other holidays. Doris and my family went to church together for years she is now with her husband,brothers and daughter with our savior, she will be deeply missed  .

My Grandma Hargis was the most influential person in my life, and had the ability to capture my very essence. After time with her, I always came away with new outlooks, opinions, and ideas which made me a better person. After losing mom when I was so young, Grandma came up to me the first Mother's Day after her passing and told me that I was the closest thing she had for a daughter, and she was the closet thing I had for a mother. She was right. Although she was always special, at that moment everything changed. We were so very close. While moving on in life without her is extremely difficult, I will take with me so many memories. Each one of them entrenched in love and respect. In my lifetime, I believe that I will never be closer to any other person. 
Thank you, Grandma. I love you so much. When I close my eyes and think of you, you are there. You always have been, and always will. When you died, a part of me died too. I miss you deeply. However, I'll be seeing youseeing you in heaven Grandma.

I worked with Doris at Security Bank and she became a special friend. Over the years we lost track of each other and now I know why.

We will truly miss that smile and Mom will feel like a big part of her has gone to a better place and looks forward to seeing her Sister again.
