Edward Scott was born on December 31, 1933, in Guthrey, OK. He passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, at his home in Escondido.

Eddie served in the Air Force, AF 19 471 104 Airman First Class-Regular Air Force from April 6th, 1953 to January 17th, 1957. His last assignment was 6517 Flight Line Maintenance Sq (Bomber) (ARDC). Eddie trained at Amarillo AFB, Texas from June 1953 to November 1953, as an Aircraft and Engine mechanic.

After serving his country, Ed took a position with th AAA, as a salesman....... and you know the rest of the story!!! The man could "sell" you, anything!! And boy was he good at that!!! Finding his "niche" in life, he then pursued the Real Estate life!!! Again, he "Conqured" this skill, as well, right away! This was our dad's passion in life. As you will hear, over and over again, he was an "angel" to many who knew him!

Our dad, had the love of his life, right next to his side for over 37, Eva Lavern Phillips. The two of them enjoyed life, traveled and keep their families close to their hearts!! They loved to take long drives to the Seqouia Mountains, the Arizona desert, and in Oklahoma, where alot of dads familie reside!!! He shared his life and love with Lavern children, as well. Larvern has two daughters, Sherri and her husband Al, and Donna Werner of Souderton, Pa. She has a beautiful family in Louisville Kentucky, by her side through this difficult time. Our dad loved her girls and their children, Sherries children are Nicholas, who has two little ones Max and Karly, and Jennifer, who has two little ones Vincent Edward Rice (named after my dad) and Madelyn Simone, Damon and Julian. Again, he was loved by many!!!

Our dad loved the sport of Golf, and he was pretty darn good at it too!! He passed that passion on to my brother Eddie Jr. They both enjoyed many years of golfing together, and shared many of the same interests.

Eddie is survived by his 5 children, Debra Jackson, Valerie Holley, Eddie Scott, Vicki Dickens and Sonya Woodside. He had a host of nine grandchildren, 4 neices and 1 nephew. He kept in touch with some of his brothers children as well. Sharon and David Mashburn, of Bakersfield and Troy Scott of Oklahoma., Bobby and Tammy Scott of Elk City, Ok., Kathy and Bud, and Linda Scott of Bakersfield, Ca.

Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel McLeod Mortuary on December 4th, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, with catered food and drinks provided, while we all share our thoughts, stories and memories together!! At 2:30, we will leave for the Military Honors and Graveside services that will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 3:00 pm.

"Afterglow" I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd likethe tears of those who greive to dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.

A year ago Mr. Scott went back to his permanent home. During this year, I realized the meaning: some people come to your life as a blessing, some people come to your life as a lesson. Mr. Scott was a blessing to my life. The income from the real estate deals we did together has been helping me financially. I wish we had worked a lot longer. He is missed!

Thank you all for you kind words, thoughts & prayers for my father & my family. Many of you I had the oppurtunity to meet the day of his service & what a beautiful day that was. Your kind words of my father made me realize just how many people's lives he did touch. For that I am deaply grateful to you all. I loved the man so much that his absence will always be missed. But thank you all once again for sharing your love for him. He will be deeply missed.

Ed Scott enjoyed talking about the Air Force and different planes & people he had encountered. Some of these folks were living legends such as Chuck Yeager and Pancho Barnes. He also enjoyed discussing real estate and how to put together a deal. His special gift was putting together the most impossible deals and getting them to work. The banks never quite understood his methods but they were thrilled with his results on their profit ledgers !
Most of all Ed enjoyed talking about family and he had a steady stream of family members stop by his home through the years. They are the one thing he will miss most during this time of separation.

I worked with Mr. Scott on real estate business for around a year before he passed away. He taught me a lot of during this short period. He was open minded, creative and good-hearted. He made his money by helping others to achieve their goals!
I took this picture shown here from his last birthday. The light behind him represents his spirit, which will always shine among the people who have know him.
Mr. Scott had made an impact in my life, for that I will always be grateful!! I miss him terribly.
I love you Mr. Scott!

I very much enjoyed knowing Eddie. He was a tremendous business man who worked with integrity and grit but with tremendous heart and compassion. Eddie always worked hard to do what was right and treated people with respect and dignity. I am thankful that I had a chance to get to know him. My prayers are for him and for his loved ones who will miss him so much.
