After serving his country, Ed took a position with th AAA, as a salesman....... and you know the rest of the story!!! The man could "sell" you, anything!! And boy was he good at that!!! Finding his "niche" in life, he then pursued the Real Estate life!!! Again, he "Conqured" this skill, as well, right away! This was our dad's passion in life. As you will hear, over and over again, he was an "angel" to many who knew him!
Our dad, had the love of his life, right next to his side for over 37, Eva Lavern Phillips. The two of them enjoyed life, traveled and keep their families close to their hearts!! They loved to take long drives to the Seqouia Mountains, the Arizona desert, and in Oklahoma, where alot of dads familie reside!!! He shared his life and love with Lavern children, as well. Larvern has two daughters, Sherri and her husband Al, and Donna Werner of Souderton, Pa. She has a beautiful family in Louisville Kentucky, by her side through this difficult time. Our dad loved her girls and their children, Sherries children are Nicholas, who has two little ones Max and Karly, and Jennifer, who has two little ones Vincent Edward Rice (named after my dad) and Madelyn Simone, Damon and Julian. Again, he was loved by many!!!
Our dad loved the sport of Golf, and he was pretty darn good at it too!! He passed that passion on to my brother Eddie Jr. They both enjoyed many years of golfing together, and shared many of the same interests.
Eddie is survived by his 5 children, Debra Jackson, Valerie Holley, Eddie Scott, Vicki Dickens and Sonya Woodside.
He had a host of nine grandchildren, 4 neices and 1 nephew. He kept in touch with some of his brothers children as well. Sharon and David Mashburn, of Bakersfield and Troy Scott of Oklahoma., Bobby and Tammy Scott of Elk City, Ok., Kathy and Bud, and Linda Scott of Bakersfield, Ca.

"Afterglow"
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd likethe tears of those who greive to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.
