Born on January 28, 1931 in El Paso Texas, he was the youngest of nineteen children born to his parents Felipe and Dominga Alvarez. Our father spent a lifetime showing us what Love, Strength, Perseverance and Forgiveness truly meant.
He was a proud professional truck driver and loved the open road, meeting new people and spreading the word of God wherever and to whomever he met.
Our Father was Baptized in 1958 in Solana Beach California. He always remarked how wonderful it was to live a Christ centered life and it is well known that he wanted all of his children to be saved as well, all nine of them.
He spent more than thirty years with the love of his life, his wife Angela, who departed this world prior to his passing, which was difficult for him. We watched our father persevere through the heartache and loneliness always thanking Jesus for all that he had, and all that he went through, regardless of the personal sacrifices he had to endure. To this end we say with heavy, yet joyful hearts, for we know he is with his first Love Jesus and his earthly love Angela.
He is survived by eight of his nine children Daniel, Robert, Karen, Ruth, Eugene, Josue, Emmanuel and Nehemias and his grandchildren, Venessa, Nicole, Johnny, Adam, Essence, Tiesha, Francesca, Netania, Amairani, Luis, Leyla, Breanna, Joel and a host of extended family and friends.
A service will be held on June 15, 2026 at McLeod Mortuary at 1919 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido CA, 92027. Service time for immediate family is from 3pm to 4 pm and extended family and friends are welcome to join us as we celebrate the Christ centered life of our Beloved father Fernando Alvarez, from 4pm to 8pm.
We will miss him everyday and carry his lessons with us for the rest of our lives.
