Holly Smith Green was born on July 29, 1962 in San Gabriel California. She was the second of five children born to Richard and Stanna Smith. She grew up in El Monte and Hacienda Heights, CA. Holly graduated from Los Altos High School in 1980. Holly married Stephen Green in July of 1982. The following year they welcomed their first son, Brandon. In November of 1985 Holly was six weeks pregnant with their second son, Trenton, when Holly, Stephen, and Brandon were in a tragic auto accident leaving Holly a paraplegic at the age of 23. She was the first women and the fastest patient to ever complete the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program at Casa Colina. Holly was motivated to get home to her husband and toddler, and get ready to welcome Trenton in June 1986. Holly continued her career as a wedding and portrait photographer. She didn’t let becoming a paraplegic discourage her dreams of having a large loving family. Holly and Steve welcomed their first daughter, Savannah, in March 1991. They then welcomed their second daughter, Madison, in October 1994. Eight short months later Holly was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite this added health challenge Holly raised her four children, served numerous church callings, and continued photography. In later years Holly battled numerous health challenges and hundreds of hospital stays, including several comas and near fatal encounters. Each experience gave her a more positive attitude. Holly endured her situation without complaint. As her health declined and she became more bed bound Holly found a new creative outlet in card making. She made hundreds of cards and sold them in local boutiques. Holly radiated love and positivity while inspiring everyone she came in contact with.
On December 29, 2024 Holly faced her final health challenge with the same courage and grace that defined her life, passing away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Though her mortal body endured many trials, she is now free from her physical pain and limitations, and is embraced by eternal peace. Her unwavering positivity, love, and ability to inspire others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
