James Edward Turner, born on October 10, 1961, in San Diego, California, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 64. James was a resident of Escondido, California, and was known for being adventurous, brave, hard-working, and thoughtful.
James joined the Navy at the age of 18 and moved to San Diego after he was discharged. He was married to Elodia Gutierrez, and together they raised, Itxel. James had a passion for travel and aspired to take his wife to all the places she had never been.
In his personal life, Jim was a great cook and baker, always willing to cook anything for anyone. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and boogie boarding, as well as playing golf, baseball, and softball. He was an avid reader with a keen interest in history. Jim took pleasure in teaching Itxel about important political and historical events and the importance of thinking about others.
Jim is remembered for his words of wisdom: "Life is short, please cherish the people you have in your life."
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at McLeod Mortuary, located at 1919 East Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92027, on November 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
