Justa Molle Metz

Justa “Jaye” M. Metz of Escondido passed peacefully on May 20th at the age of 90. Jaye worked at different jobs as a young lady, but found her true calling as a selfless and devoted wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma.

Jaye was the quintessential “Makuahine aloha” (loving mother). She was always so welcoming and so happy when preparing and serving her Hawaiian feasts for her loving family, telling everyone “Kau Kau! (eat plenty!)—no shame!”

Jaye was an avid gardener with a green thumb proving that everything and everyone she touched flourished and glowed.

Jaye’s beautiful and ever present Polynesian smile and kahiau (giving lavishly from the heart) will be missed forever but will survive eternally in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Jaye was predeceased by Roger, her loving husband of 50 years, and by her youngest daughter Lori. She is survived by her four children Freddie Yadao (Rhonda), Cheryl Brown (Scott), Craig Metz (Doris), Laura Metz Lewis (Larry), 10 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and her extended family grandchildren Jin Lin, Maggie Chen, Kiki and Alan, Candy and Shogi, Jet Li and Joyce, and all their children.

Aloha ‘oe a hui hou i ka lani (Farewell to thee until we meet again in the heavens)

A Celebration of Life will be held at her favorite restaurant.
