June12, 1932- June 15, 2014
Mom has gone to be with our Lord in heaven.
Surrounded by her daughters, held in their arms, and listening to songs of praise, the angels came to end her struggle and pain.
Louise was born June 12, 1932 in Upland California and raised in Whittier with her parents Myron and Agnes Longacre, and brother John Elliott Longacre. In 1950 she married her high school sweetheart and first love Ronald Graham. They lived in Long Beach where they had three daughters. She attended business college while he went to Korea with the US Army. Later they moved to central California, Louise dedicated to the girls, was also working mom, Girl Scout leader, and PTA president. As life has its changes and challenges they later divorced.
In 1967 she married Raymond Coast. Ray had three children as well, two daughters and a son. They relocated to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and purchased a ranch, raised the kids in true country fashion. The city girl started baking bread and helping feed horses and cows. Louise worked for a cattle company as well as helping with homework, 4-H, prom dresses, basketball games, and horseshows .When the kids were grown they started a new venture with a Western Wear and Tack store. Louise and Ray were so elated when they became grandparents. She mentored her daughters to be great moms like herself and showered the grandkids with love.
Louise never really embraced the snowy weather due to her arthritis so in 1979 they moved to Arizona to be snowbirds. But Ray became very ill and she lost him to cancer only a few months later.
Louise moved to Escondido to be close to her brother and soon was joined by her two older daughters. Seeking grief counseling brought her to meet Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross author of “On Death and Dying” and she joined the staff at Shanti Nilaya in Escondido. She went on to a dispatch job at a moving van and storage company where she worked until she retired. Louise also took care of a gentleman with Parkinson’s and became the treasurer for the support group. Her Christian faith was very important to her and it grew as she aged. She served as board member at Hope Wesleyan church in Escondido.
She suffered a stroke and her mobility and functions declined. But despite how very hard it was for her physically, she continued to attend family gatherings, birthdays, weddings, and graduations as her joy was being surrounded by family. In 2004 when she fell and broke her leg, Cathy quit her job and lovingly has cared for her night and day.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, and her spouse Ray. She is survived by her brother John Elliott Longacre Escondido, her first husband and dear friend Ronald Graham Oakdale,CA. Daughters Cathleen Ingalls (David) Escondido, CA, Christa Wilkerson (Wayne) Valley Center, CA, Caren Graham Larsen (Larry) Portland, OR, son Pat Coast (Roxanne) Post Falls, ID, daughters Cheryl Coast Forest Grove, OR, Susan Coast Seal Rock, OR, and 15 Grandchildren,

She would have us pray: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference.
