I will always remember our Sunday Breakfast's he would cook it himself or we all go out but it was a time to share. He would tell stories we never heard before or we just catch up on family gossip. Just taking the time to be together and we will continue to do this in his memory. We really miss Sunday time with Dad/Big Lou.

Although we were too overcome with grief to speak at the memorial ceremony, we have many, many Uncle Lou stories to share. He lives on in our hearts and minds, he was such a unique individual. We think of him every time we look at our Uncle Louie's chair as Sonny Blaze called it. It was a chaise lounge that his brother Richard, my husband, picked up at a yard sale somewhere. We covered it with a soft green lounge pad. He spent his time in the patio on this chair, lounging and reading his paperbacks on warm days when he visited.

He gave us encouragement when we needed it most. The most recent instance of this was when we decided to make tamales for New Year's. We had never done this on our own and he told us that we were good cooks and that we  could do it. He asked Holly and Keta for advice for us and he said, "Don't worry everything will come out fine." He was a master cook in his own right, so it was high praise when he tasted the first tamale and said that it was delicious. He went on to say it was the best tamale he ever tasted and he had tasted many in his lifetime.

We will miss him at the ballpark. We enjoyed going to the ballpark with him. He was always full of sports info for Richard and Victor. They talked for hours on the merits and shortcomings of the players, the coaches, etc.. This is when he and I would share family gossip. He made us laugh until we were practically rolling on the floor with his bon-mots about this or that going on.

We will never forget his most often used expression--Son-of-a-b@#$%!!! We will celebrate his life because he loved life so much. I wonder if he had some Apache blood because we Apaches pick our moment to walk on to the other side and he did this.

He was not just a brother to my husband, but a strong father figure. Richard lost a father and a brother to whom he owes his most cherished respect and admiration. I honored him by cutting my hair as is the custom in my culture when a relative passes over. I sent a 22" braid to Locks of Love in his honor. We really loved our Uncle Lou.

I am very sorry for the family's loss. I know he was a special part of the family, and he will be missed greatly. I only met him on a couple of occasions, but he was a sweet, gentle, man who always had something funny to say. My condolences to the family.

My Dad will be missed very much by everyone. Special thanks to my sisters Annette and Yvonne, my brother Louie and wife Holly. It was a very special time for all of us. It was a blessing to see all my aunts, uncles and cousins even though it was a sad time for them too. It was a very nice service and turned out the way Dad would of wanted it....with all his family present. Love too all my family. XOXOXOX
