Rich was the youngest of seven children, born in Evergreen Park, IL, to Bill and Anne Corrigan. Rich grew up in the Chicago area and attended Brother Rice High School. After graduating from Northern Illinois University, he began his career at Motorola. While working at Motorola on wireless technology, he developed 12 patents, earned his Master’s Degree from DePaul University, met his wife Daphne Kao, and their first daughter, Sydney, was born. In 2000, the family moved to San Diego, where their second daughter, Megan, was born. During his life, he made the world a better place with his many talents and skills as a loving husband, father, brother, engineer, inventor, jokester, and generous friend to many. He had a great heart and vibrant personality, as well as a love of technology, Hawaiian shirts, and the White Sox. He truly was the great Rich Corrigan. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Daphne Kao, his daughters Sydney Corrigan and Megan Corrigan, parents-in-law Shiu Hsiung Kao and Yung Wen Kao, sister Susan Scholz, brother William Corrigan Jr., sister Jane Milano and her husband Nick Milano, sister Mary Schmit and her husband Bob Schmit, identical (older by 13 minutes) twin brother Robert Corrigan and his wife Susan Corrigan, sister-in-law Nicole Kao and her husband Frank Kusnierz, brother-in-law Jerry Kao, twenty-eight nieces and nephews, and dogs Sally and Khaleesi. Rejoined in eternity with his parents Bill and Anne Corrigan, brother Patrick Corrigan, and brother-in-law Chuck Scholz.
A visitation and service for Richard will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at McLeod Mortuary, 1919 East Valley Pkwy, Escondido, California 92027.
