Mr. Foster served in the United States Navy for 4 years then spent the rest of his working career as a Quality Control Engineer in the electrical industry. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Poway. Walter was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed being an all-around handyman for his family, friends and community.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Becky Jo Foster of Escondido and their two children, Ryan and Julie. Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia in 1998.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at Walter's neighborhood clubhouse, 15795 Avenida Billaha in Rancho Bernardo on Friday July 8, 2001. Lunch will be served at 11am with the service immediately following at noon. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria del Angel McLeod, Escondido, CA.
