Luther “Hoot” Love, 87, of Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019. He was born to the late James Finley Love and Lena (Smith) Love, on December 23, 1931, in Rumsey, KY. He was the youngest of 12.
Hoot retired from Karges Furniture as a final fitter after 50 years of service. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Hoot loved everyone and you could normally find him and his niece Marie, at El Charos having lunch with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Lena Love; brothers, Roy “Todie” Clifton, Albert “Bootz” Otis “Frog”, and Gene; sisters, Goldie and Sarah.
Hoot is survived by his niece, Marie with whom he lived; brother Homer “Pete” Love of Evansville and sister, Stella Decker of Calhoun, KY, several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Mark Lowe with burial to follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun, KY. Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
