Agnes S. Gonterman

Agnes S. Gonterman, 103, of Southaven, Mississippi, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Hermitage Gardens. She was born on September 1, 1916, in Evansville, IN to the late Hallie and Stella (Winsett) Fogle.

Agnes grew up in Evansville and worked with her father in his tailor shop during her teenage years, and later worked at Servel during WWII. She met and later married Calvin Harry Gonterman on January 15, 1942, and their union was blessed with three children: Ron, Mike, and Harry. Agnes was a stay-at-home housewife and mother who loved her husband and children dearly with all her heart. She was very blessed and proud of her six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Harry Gonterman in 2002, and her son, Harry Calvin Gonterman in 2010.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. James Clark, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
