Marie first worked at Bernard and bottle Cap, then retired from Anchor Industries.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Simon Hobbs; granddaughter, lacy Turner; sisters, Vada Haley and Mary June Benson; brothers, Malcolm “Mickey” Ashby and Herschel “Bubby” Ashby.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ruff; son, Amon Clark; grandchildren, nieces, nephews; companion of 20 years, Jewel Ashby; and caretaker, Judy Carver and Cavin Alston.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bobby Rich, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
