Anna Louise Jenkins

Anna L. (Freels) Jenkins, 87, of Evansville, IN passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was born in Evansville on January 15, 1936 to the late James Cecil Freels and Martha Louise (James) Freels.

She was a member of the Women’s Circle at Westside Christian Church and had taught Sunday School and Bible School, she was currently a member of Howell Baptist Church. Anna also enjoyed camping, arranging flowers, sewing, and painting ceramics. She loved spending time with her family.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Freels; sister, Rosalie Pyle, and son, Kenny Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Wilburn L. Jenkins; daughter, Debbie Hayes (Karl); grandsons, Justin Hayes (Jamie), Drew Jenkins (Lindsey); great-grandchildren, Evan Hayes, Sophia Hayes, and Claire Hayes; and nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN. officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin, followed by entombment at Alexander Memorial Park.

Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

There will be a dinner at Howell Baptist Church after the burial service.
